In a strong and damning statement, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adamu Garba, has described the persistent killings across Nigerian villages as “nothing but pure genocide.”
Garba expressed his condemnation while highlighting the brutal nature of the attacks, which often target defenseless citizens in their homes.
“When you look at the number of people who have been killed in Nigeria over time โ in villages, sleeping in their homes, defenseless โ then what can you call it? It’s nothing but pure genocide,” he stated.
The remark underscores growing concern over the security situation in the country, even from within the ruling party.
As reactions continue to trail the comment, many Nigerians are waiting to see whether other political leaders will speak in a similar tone or proffer solutions to the escalating violence.
